Each chamber this week unanimously passed legislation that would direct $3 million to the University of Iowa to fund pediatric cancer research.
House File 2758 would pay for the research from the state's general fund, while Senate File 2480 would create a 5-cent tax on vapes and alternative nicotine products and direct the first $3 million raised from the tax to fund pediatric cancer research.
