Bluebells and wild garlic!
The Woodland already had some bluebells, but we’ve planted even more, concentrating on the native English bluebell and they’re really thriving!
The ideal time to harvest wild garlic is before the flowers come out, because then the leaves which are what you mainly use for cooking, are more tender.
So we’ve left it a little bit late, but in fact, you can eat the flowers too, as they also really taste of garlic!
So I’m going to be making some wild garlic pesto today for the first time and I can’t wait to see what it’s like!
Have any of you tried foraging and cooking wild garlic?
Any tips gratefully received!
In other news, for anybody who’s been watching my stories, I did actually make some significant progress cladding the swimming pool wall yesterday afternoon, and I’ll be carrying on today.
So I will, of course, give you an update on stories later this morning!
Happy Sunday, everyone!
