VICTORY!! Today, Virginia took a powerful step forward for moms and babies. Governor Abigail Spanberger (and mom) signed the Virginia Momnibus Act II into law! This is what progress looks like when communities speak up and leaders listen. Because here’s the truth: Black birthing people in Virginia are more than twice as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes. That is unacceptable! The Momnibus takes on the root causes head-on. From addressing implicit bias in care, to expanding postpartum mental health support, to improving access through remote monitoring and investing in childcare.
