The number of residential homes closed within the month of August reached a 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝟐,𝟕𝟔𝟐 for Davidson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson, and Williamson County, according to data provided by TrendGraphix. This figure is up almost 𝟔𝟗 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 from the 𝟖𝟔𝟒 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 reported in August of 2018, prior to the global pandemic, and up nearly 78 percent from August of 2008.
"While Middle Tennessee is experiencing pre-pandemic inventory levels, August's closings were roughly three times higher than they were around the same time in 2018. Compared to the market crash of 2008, the demand is still outpacing new housing inventory despite higher interest rates."
