Minnesota Winter Day Trip Idea! 🎣 🧊 We had the BEST time ice fishing on📍Lake Minnetonka - here are my tips to make it a successful day! @take_me_fishing (ad) 🐟 Buy a fishing license! Required for anyone over 16 in Minnesota (check your state for requirements) 🐟 Find spots to ice fish at takemefishing.org - their interactive map also has recent reviews! 🐟 Rent a heated house! Winters in Minnesota can be BRUTALLY cold so sitting “indoors” while on the frozen lake is a huge perk. We had a great experience with @icefishingwarriors 🐟 Make sure the ice is at 12-15” thick before driving on it for a medium sized vehicle; or go out with a guide! Avoid driving near bridges and always adhere to signs 🐟 Go EARLY in the morning when fish are more active. We went during the day and while we had nibbles, we weren’t quick enough to pull them up.
