Have you been surfing this year yet? It’s not as easy as it looks!
We’ve got some quick tips for beginners:
🚩 Start on a longboard: Longboards are a great option for beginners as they offer more stability and buoyancy than shorter boards. This makes it easier to catch waves and balance on the board.
🚩 Practice paddling: Before you even get in the water, practice paddling with your board on the sand. Be sure to build up your strength and endurance!
🚩 Watch the waves: Understanding the waves and how they break is key to catching them and staying safe. Take some time to observe the water before you paddle out, and pay attention to how they break and where other surfers are catching them.
🚩 Respect other surfers: When you’re in the water, remember to be respectful of other surfers and follow proper surf etiquette. Don’t cut in front of other surfers, and always apologize if you accidentally interfere with someone else’s wave.
