Nico Rubio returns to the Nor’easters for his 4th season with the team! Last season Rubio set career highs with the Storm, making 7 appearances including 3 starts. He logged his first assist for the team during the regular season finale against Delaware FC, setting up the final goal in a 7-2 victory for Ocean City. In the fall NCAA season, Rubio continued to set personal bests. He played in all 19 games for Seton Hall, starting a career high 11 contests, and totaling 841 minutes. He helped the Pirates reach the Second Round of the National Tournament. Off the field, Rubio participated in the Lowe’s Move Like Messi campaign, helping run free soccer clinics in New Jersey. Rubio was named to the 2023-24 & 2024-25 BIG EAST All-Academic team. Rubio previously played for YSC Academy, the official educational partner of the Philadelphia Union.
