Great things happen in laboratories. New medical technologies enabled by lasers, the creation of atomic clocks, the foundations for space travel and even this 3D-printed Lamborghini designed by ThorLabs research scientist Sterling Backus all found inspiration in a lab. In celebration of #WorldLaboratoryDay, he offered a sneak peek into his lab, where he is currently working on developing a medical laser to improve people's lives.
