Celebrating yesterday's major win for the Endangered Species Act with a message from Kierán Suckling, our Executive Director. Yesterday, the House of Representative's effort to roll back our strongest wildlife protection law was halted after growing opposition from across the political spectrum. The Endangered Species Act has kept 99% of species under its protection from going extinct, bringing animals like bald eagles and gray wolves back from the brink. It remains one of the most effective conservation laws in the world. Yesterday's win is a win for us all. It's a win for whales, sea turtles, monarch butterflies, and many other species that depend on these protections. And, it's a win for the power of the people using our collective voices to speak out on issues that matter. A big thank you to all of the Center supporters who spoke out with us.
