🚨 Action alert: This week the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on sweeping legislation that would dismantle the Endangered Species Act. For more than five decades, the Act has saved 99% of species under its care from extinction. If passed, the bill H.R. 1897 will make it harder to protect imperiled species and the habitats they need to survive — and easier for extractive industries to destroy wild places. That means fewer safeguards for monarch butterflies, Florida panthers, and California spotted owls — and more clearcut forests, polluted waters, and disappearing wildlife.
