Pigeon racing dates back to Europe in the 1800s, when birds were released and raced back home. About 20 years ago, a new kind of competition emerged: one-loft racing. After spending months in a pigeon loft, the hundreds of racing pigeons are taken hundreds of miles away and released. They race back to the loft at highway speeds.
