St. John Fisher sophomore Colin Patterson has been named Empire 8 Men's Golf Player of the Year after leading the Cardinals to their 21st conference championship and fifth in a row earlier this week.
Awards and All-E8 teams were based on results from the conference championship, which the Cardinals won by 19 strokes after shooting 105-over-par 1,241 over the four rounds.
Patterson stood in second place after the first two rounds of the championship before taking control of the individual leaderboard with a four-over-par 76 third round that included three birdies on Sunday.
Patterson also earned first-team All-Empire 8 honors along with fellow sophomores Nick Years and Jack Doran. Years, the 2024-25 E8 Rookie of the Year, placed second in the championship at +23 (307 strokes), while Doran finished fifth at +28 (312 strokes).
