Her Legacy | Episode 19
A champion golfer who went on to shape the future of the game through leadership and service.
Maggie Giesenhagen first made her mark as a competitor, winning the 1965 Big Ten Conference Championship and the 1974 CWGA Match Play title, while also competing in three U.S. Women’s Opens and nine U.S. Women’s Amateurs.
Her greatest influence, however, came through administration and volunteer leadership.
In 1988, she became the first full-time executive director of the CWGA, a groundbreaking role for women’s state golf associations.
She later served 19 years with the USGA, primarily as a Director of Regional Affairs, helping oversee championships and grow the game across the country.
Her dedication to golf was recognized in 2010 with the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award.
Her Legacy lives on.
