As a scent designer and fragrance brand co-founder, I’ve made it my personal mission to master designing the single scent family that I dislike the most. I love the challenge and the editing process, and the personal growth required to design this olfactory family. It is historically my least favorite scent profile, yet designing these fragrances allows me to put my ego and personal bias aside and look at the perfume objectively. When designing, I ask myself: What notes can I add to make it richer, warmer, or more elegant? How can I create a unique and memorable scent? Where in my scent memory has this been present, and how can I tell a story through scent? This allows me to grow as a scent designer and experiment with unique, creative notes that I may otherwise have overlooked.
