A 4 Y/O child died Monday evening after fall from Downtown building 😨💔🕊️ A tragic incident has shaken the Sandy Hill community after a young boy, believed to be under the age of eight, lost his life following a fall from a high-rise apartment on Laurier Avenue East near Nicholas Street. Emergency crews were called to the scene around 6:45 p.m., where the child was found outside the building with injuries consistent with a fall from a height. He was treated on scene and rushed to hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of first responders and hospital staff, the child was later pronounced deceased. Ottawa police say the investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time. The area remained taped off as authorities worked into the evening.
