Bound together by tragedy. For that moment, with a total stranger, I understood that we are all really just looking for a place to put our love, that I am him and he is me, and that we both had a great and wonderful friendship that quite possibly defined an era of our lives. And now we are both learning to accept that this once brilliant star in our night sky is gone. When I see him now I wave. And I say a little prayer for him that he would know comfort and peace in his grief. I could see it on his face how much he loved that dog.
