Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting are often grouped together, but they’re two very different strength sports.
▶️ Olympic Weightlifting focuses on two highly technical lifts: the snatch and the clean & jerk. The goal is also to lift the most weight possible, but with far more speed, timing, mobility, coordination, and precision.
▶️ Powerlifting is built around maximal strength in three lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. The goal is to lift the most weight possible through controlled, efficient movement.

Powerlifting tests your ability to produce maximal force in slower, less velocity-dependent lifts while Olympic Weightlifting tests your ability to move heavy loads quickly and efficiently through explosive patterns.
