The resin our students use for casting projects is a casting epoxy resin, which differs from laminating resin in both composition and application. Casting resin is designed to be poured into molds or cavities and cures slowly, preventing excessive heat buildup. In contrast, laminating resin can generate too much heat when poured in thick sections, leading to thermal or exothermic fractures. Students also learn how to create silicone molds for casting, which allows them to experiment with various micro powders, alcohol inks, and pigments to produce unique and intricate finishes for their epoxy cast parts We will sharing the full process soon! . . . #epoxy #resin #TheFabSchool #carbonfiber #composites
