Every April 23rd, Sant Jordi brings Catalonia to life. Books and roses take over the streets, stalls line the avenues, and the whole city celebrates together. 🌹📚🐉 Saint George (Sant Jordi) was a knight who slayed a dragon to save a princess. From the dragon's blood grew a red rose, which he gave to her. Centuries later, books joined the tradition, and the day became a celebration of love and culture. The story is so woven into Barcelona's identity that Gaudí built it into the city. The building in the photo is Casa Batlló, his architectural tribute to Sant Jordi: the scaly roof is the dragon's back, the turret topped with a cross is the knight's lance, and the flower-covered façade evokes the roses that grew from its blood. On April 23rd, it's draped in roses - the legend brought back to life once a year. Here in #Barcelona, we wouldn't miss it. Books and roses are shared across the office every single year. How do you celebrate Sant Jordi where you are? #SantJordi #iLovePDF
