A powerful outbreak of severe storms swept across northern Oklahoma on Thursday evening, producing at least one confirmed tornado that tore through Enid and Garfield County, leaving widespread destruction and prompting a major emergency response. Tornado impact and damage The tornado caused significant structural damage across Enid, particularly in residential neighborhoods and areas near Vance Air Force Base. Homes were destroyed or severely damaged, power lines were downed, and roads became hazardous due to debris. Officials reported that at least 40 homes were damaged, with some completely leveled. One of the hardest-hit areas was the Gray Ridge neighborhood, where the tornado’s power was especially evident.
