For this Mischpacha Monday, we’re taking a moment to highlight our extended mishpacha—many of whom joined us on campus last week to celebrate Israel’s 78th. 🇮🇱 As you probably know by now, the DJDS community extends far beyond our campus. And we felt that in a real way—welcoming founders, spiritual leaders, alumni, former board presidents, and even members of Herzl’s inaugural class (bonus points if you can name them here!). A lot of history and meaning all in one room. Spirits were high and the sense of celebration was unmistakable as we gathered for the Hadlakat Masuot ceremony. This tradition dates back to Israel’s earliest years of independence, when beacons were lit from Mount Herzl outward—symbolizing the spread of light, pride, and hope.
