A Wild Wednesday it was indeed. 🇮🇱
Yom Ha’atzmaut at DJDS doesn’t really fit into one category—which is kind of the point.
The day started with a full community gathering in the gym (with some very special guests and familiar faces joining us), then quickly shifted into what can only be described as organized chaos in the best way: for the Upper Division, grade-level Mogyvision prep…followed by actual Mogyvision, which, IYKYK.
And then there was kindergarten.
They boarded El Al Flight 613, captained by the highly experienced Captain Shababa (Mrs. Shapiro), passports in hand, greeted by a flight crew that looked…suspiciously familiar. A full in-flight experience (turbulence and all) before “landing” in Israel—and the commitment to the bit was strong across the board.
By lunchtime, it was an all school Israeli picnic meets recess meets dance party. Falafel, lawn games, music, sheshbesh—choose your own adventure.
