I honestly can’t describe how remote this island felt , right in the middle of the Caribbean Sea 🌊 with no uber eats or restaurants around.
Life here is simple. The Indigenous community that runs these islands goes fishing every morning, and whatever the sea gives them is what gets cooked for the day. Fresh seafood, no menus, no choices.
And then there was me..the only vegetarian on the island who don’t eat eggs or meat.
I won’t lie, I was nervous. I even carried cup noodles and mango pickle, just in case I had nothing to eat.
Note : This video was from my first meal on the island, and honestly, if you look closely, I wasn’t grateful yet ., I was still adjusting…
But over the next two nights and three days, something shifted.
They made sure I always had rice, fried plantains, and simple vegetarian food and they did it with so much warmth. ❤️
I arrived unsure.
I left grateful for the effort, the kindness, and for being able to put a vegetarian meal on my plate as the only vegetar...
