An early morning hike to Cape Breton Highlands National Park quickly turned into a nightmare with active bear alerts. With just 1 car in the parking lot when I arrived, I was nervous to hike this trail. Since I wasn’t carrying bear spray, I kept singing loudly to warn animals that I was there 😂.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park is one of Nova Scotia’s most enchanting places, where mountains meet the sea. With rugged wilderness, it is highly suggested to hike with friends or a group.

The Skyline Trail gives you the eagle’s view with a dramatic headland cliff overlooking the rugged coast from the end of the trail.
Hike details:
It’s a 6.5km trail return, or if you decide to loop, the length is 8.2kms.
An easy hike for any level of hikers with a slight incline.
Best for an early morning or sunset hike.
Best time to visit: Summer or fall.
