It is the largest lake in Yoho National Park, one of the most stunning BC Lakes, and surrounded by President Mountain Range..
To get there:
Looks like no public transport, so rent a car or join a guided tour.
If you’re driving from downtown Banff, you can take the Trans-Canada Highway 1 and then turn off at Emerald Lake Road
Things to do at Emerald Lake:
1. Canoe or paddle board (Rentals are available on site)
2. An easy 5.2km trail around the lake
3. Stay at Emerald lake lodge
Best time to visit :
Summer, ideally before 10am for lesser crowds.
Note: There is no admission fee to the lake but you need park pass.
You can also visit the lake in winter as it’s open year long, for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing etc
