Growing up, I only knew rakhri as the tradition of celebrating the bond between brothers & sisters. For over 30 years, my brother and I have observed this tradition & while this bond continues to grow, I’m so grateful I can pass down this celebration with my own littles, just a tad remixed. It’s our own spin on rakhri, changing the norm if you will, where we celebrate the sisterhood and everlasting bond these sisters share today and forever. While they might not truly understand why we celebrate this just yet, my hope is that they value and appreciate each other through the ups & downs and forever hold space for one another.
