You know what the biggest win, THE biggest flex, for me has been lately: hearing from my girls how much they want to be like me when they grow up. I by no means am a perfect human. I’m honest about my imperfections with them. I share my wrongs. And give them a glance into everything I do, whether it’s work or community care. They see it all. So why is this such a win for me you might ask?! Because don’t we want our children to be their own people - ABSOLUTELY! But for me, in a world where moms still feel the societal pressures of doing it all or not doing enough. Judged for working long hours or for staying home with their littles. We never know where to find the wins or when the appreciation will feel real. So if for now, in this moment, I can exemplify to my girls how womanhood and motherhood can look like, I’ll take the win.
