How many of us are in professions that we dreamt about being in? As young kids we’re always asked what we want to be when we grow up. I would always note down “actor” or “dancer” and I was convinced it was going to happen. Especially since I got my boost after winning the drama & dance award in grade school. I think my parents were puzzled and might’ve asked why I didn’t win the science or mathematics award. Oops.🤷🏽‍♀️ . And just like that I think my dreams shattered. I was always told that the arts was a hobby not a profession. And this seems to be a common narrative I hear just from the conversations I’ve been having with the guests on my show. . What’s the revelation here? Well, do whatever it is that your mind and heart believe in. And don’t let your age, gender, or race stop you. And for that matter, don’t let being a parent stop you either. And actually, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise either. Keep those dreams within you alive.
