I took this picture when Aliza was less than a week old. I was exhausted. I was trying to find a rhythm of being a mother to two. I was in pain from my cbirth. I put forward so many unrealistic expectations on myself. I was hurting mentally and physically. Truth be told, I still hurt.

I’ve sat with stillness / darkness / worry / doubt / anger / hatred / disgust / loneliness in my heart and soul. I still do. I find my clarity and purpose on most days. Other days, I don’t. I often question if I’m doing enough for my children. I carry a lot of weight not on my shoulders but in the pit of my stomach. Through the right mechanisms, I work on me daily, and that’s my commitment to self. To find tranquility. To find consolation. To find me, again.
