A third place is somewhere outside of home or work where people can go to be around each other, and connect with their community. It’s a casual place, and cost shouldn’t keep anyone from being there. It’s a place where people come together and strangers can become friends. But since Covid, third places are on the decline. Technology has made it so easy to do everything straight from our houses. We can get food delivered to our door, and we text friends from our couch. We watch acquaintances’ lives through our social feeds instead of connecting in person.
