New research using electronic health records has revealed that Alzheimer’s disease does not follow a single path—but progresses in distinct, varied ways.
UF and Fixel Institute researchers collaborated on this study, which identified four unique progression subphenotypes in patients transitioning from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer’s.
These findings could help shape more personalized approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
