🧠 Words matter when it comes to concussions! This study found that using "brain" to describe concussions can influence how severe they’re perceived. For example, when participants described a concussion as a “brain injury,” they were more likely to see it as serious. Those who used brain-related language had much higher odds of rating concussions as severe (OR = 0.05 for minimal severity, OR = 0.24 for moderate severity). The effect was most significant among coaches. Educating stakeholders with precise medical language could encourage better concussion reporting and ultimately protect athletes from the dangers of undiagnosed concussions. #BrainHealth #ConcussionAwareness #SportsSafety Full Study: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pmrj.13256
