King Charles threw a little shade at Donald Trump during the White House state dinner, telling him that the U.S. would be "speaking French" if it wasn't for the UK, referencing America's colonial battle with France before U.S. independence. His joke was in response to the U.S.'s president's declaration at the World Economic Forum earlier this year that without America's aid in World War II, the UK would be speaking German.
