Making sure I stay my bestie forever. š„°
I learned early on in life that it was better to go alone, than to stay home. Growing up I didnāt have friends or a partner that wanted to travel (and def not to the places I wanted to visit)ā¦
But I knew life would be way too boring and filled with regret if I let that stop me.
So at 15, I took my first solo international trip. In hindsight, I see how it unlocked a kind of superpower in me. š¦øš½āāļø
I learned that no one was coming to save me, or make my dreams happen, or give my life meaning. That would be up to me.
So I refused to put off the things I wanted to do, just because I didnāt have someone to do them with me.
Solo travel has led me to so many interesting people/experiences, introduced me to lifelong friends, and catalyzed immeasurable personal growth. (And now I also have some epic travel friends too. š„°)
I know when Iām older Iāll look back and be so glad I didnāt hold myself back just because there wasnāt a partner by my sid...
