Your breathing is directly connected to your nervous system. Fast, irregular breathing → activates the sympathetic system (stress response) Slow, controlled breathing → activates the parasympathetic system (relaxation, control) That’s why: • When you’re stressed → your breath becomes short and chaotic • When you’re calm → your breath becomes slow and deep And it works both ways.
