LINCOLN, Neb. — A sweeping $600 million plan to remake Memorial Stadium has been approved. This includes new chairback seating, a reconfigured concourse and expanded year-round events. At the Nebraska Board of Regents’ April meeting, the Regents approved a $600 million Memorial Stadium renovation by vote. Called the 'Big Red Rebuild', it is designed to transform the stadium experience while addressing infrastructure needs and positioning Nebraska Athletics to compete financially in what officials described as a rapidly evolving college athletics landscape. Memorial Stadium has been home to Nebraska football since 1923 and marked its 100th anniversary during the 2023 season.
