New Heights Are Ahead 🌳🦧 Something exciting will soon be taking shape within the Indo-Malaya Pavilion 🧡🌿 With yesterday having been #WorldDesignDay, your Toronto Zoo is excited to announce that we’re reimagining (and re-building) our indoor Sumatran orangutan habitat to create a more complex, species-specific environment for this incredible species in our care. Beginning this May, construction will transform their existing indoor habitat with new climbing structures, expanded enrichment features, and upgraded back-of-house areas to support the highest standard of care. We’re also introducing a brand-new play space for kids which will bring guests closer to viewing the Sumatran orangutans than ever before. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to building world-class, state-of-the-art habitats that not only support animal well-being, but elevate every Zoo visit for both guests and members.
