LIONS PROVIDE HIGHLIGHTS IN TRINITY TOURNAMENT OPENER: The jserra.boys_tennis team enjoyed a stellar opening day of court action at the Trinity League Tournament on Monday at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita. JSerra will be well-represented in Day 2 doubles action. The tandem of seniors Cade and Connor Faul (finalists in last year’s tournament) earned a trip to the semifinals with 6-0, 6-1 wins over Santa Margarita’s Mark Stevens and Owen Chuang in the Round of 16 and 6-3, 6-2 triumphs over St. John Bosco’s Jordan Danganan and Diego Fonseca in the quarterfinals. Junior Enzo Biundo and senior Emilio Salgado earned a semifinals appearance with 6-4, 6-2 wins over Mater Dei’s Ryan Burke and Kai Gardner in the Round of 16 and by outlasting Orange Lutheran’s Max Zhou and Luke Carillo in a tough three set battle by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 10-6.
