David Byrne is a musician and visual artist known primarily for his role as the lead singer and guitarist of the New Wave band, Talking Heads. At a young age, his family moved from Scotland to Canada, later moving to and growing up in Arbutus, Maryland. Talking Heads was founded in New York in 1975, and the band released eight studio albums until their eventual breakup in 1991. Since then, Byrne has created and contributed to several projects, including solo studio albums, Broadway productions, album collaborations, film soundtracks, installation art pieces, and illustrations.
