Four years after leading the historic Full Circle Everest expedition—the first all-Black team to attempt the world’s highest peak—Philip Henderson is still climbing, just in a different way. Now he’s taking the story off the mountain and into classrooms and community centers, bringing crampons, summit suits, and firsthand accounts of Everest to spark curiosity and belonging in the outdoors. And when he’s not on the speaking circuit, he’s back in his Colorado workshop, repairing discarded tents and backpacks as part of a growing effort to keep gear out of landfills and put it back into use.
