Today, UConn CFSD recognizes Denim Day 👖🩵 Originating in 1992, Denim Day was created to remember the injustice of an overturned case in Italy, where a girl was assaulted by her driving instructor. The case was overturned because the court argued her jeans were too tight, implying she consented since she had to take them off herself. After the overturning, Italian women showed up to work and the courthouse wearing denim in support. Since then, a movement has been created and recognized ever since.
