Activists and labor unions in Oakland are escalating demands for local officials to end the shipment of cargo bound for Israel, saying they are willing to call for a general strike and walk off the job if demands are not met. On Thursday Nov 20, a preliminary version of the embargo resolution was presented to the Port Commissioners. It demands the board condemn the arms shipments to Israel, and commit to taking action to stop them flying out of OAK. We spoke with Oakland resident Dina, a member of the Palestinian Youth Movement.
