April 24th this year is Arbor Day! Since 1872, the purpose of Arbor Day is to encourage people to plant trees. For today, Howard letterpress printed an image from a photo engraving of a giant sequoia, a type of tree that can be found on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada in California. This was printed with green rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. We hope you have a tree-mendous Arbor Day! #SacHistoryMuseum #arborday #trees #museum #sacramento
