Before Artemis Il ever left the launchpad, two of its astronauts had already lived in extreme isolation, 60 feet under the ocean off Key Largo, at FIU’s Aquarius Reef Base. Commander Reid Wiseman (NEEMO 21, 2016) and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen (2014) trained as aquanauts before becoming lunar astronauts. But the FlU story doesn’t stop with the crew. More than 30 Panther alumni helped power the mission itself — engineering the launch control systems, propulsion, communications, and integration that made Artemis Il fly.
