Not all stem cells heal the same 🧬. Lots of my patients are asking about stem cells (and peptides) lately so here's the breakdown on the former👇
👉 Embryonic stem cells = replacement cells 🏗️
They can become almost any tissue in the body and are designed to directly turn into new cells like cartilage, bone, or nerve.
👉 MSCs = signaling cells 📡
These are the ones most commonly used today for injections. They are less about “becoming” tissue and more about sending powerful healing signals:
✨ calm inflammation
🩸 improve blood flow
🛠️ recruit your body’s repair cells
🧵 improve collagen organization
That’s why in orthopedics, MSCs often work more like a biologic pharmacy than a true replacement part 🦴
Big difference:
ESCs replace tissue
vs
MSCs help your body repair tissue better 🔥
