[for the movie that you made with me] 3 years and some change ago, I picked up my camera to shoot my first sporting event, and it was softball. Never spectated a live sporting event nor knew anything about the game of softball. But something clicked. It was as close to love at first sight as it could possibly be. I felt all the emotions as if I was back in high school playing sports, only this time through the medium of photography. Yesterday was my last sporting event as an undergraduate intern with Purdue Athletics. Funny enough, it was also softball. Yet, it won’t be the photography that I miss. Covering softball this season has reminded me why I fell in love with this in the first place. Never has it been for the attention or the success, even though it had brought me to places 12 years old me would have been in awe.
