Hundreds of students, faculty, and community members gathered at Crescent Hill on the University of South Florida (USF) Tampa campus on Friday (May 1) afternoon for a vigil honoring two slain Bangladeshi doctoral students, Zamil Ahmed Limon and Nahida Sultana Bristy, both 27. The pair, both originally from Bangladesh, were last seen alive on April 16. They were murdered by Limon’s roommate, 26-year-old Hisham Abugharbieh, a former USF student, at the Avalon Heights apartment complex near the USF campus. Abugharbieh has been charged with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder with a weapon and is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
