To escape the violence of right-wing militias in eastern Colombia, Michelle Tapasco and her family moved near Tatamá National Park, not realizing the FARC — the largest left–wing guerrilla group — was active here. She decided to build a business providing lodging for the occasional visitor. Many thought it would fail. “They would tell me I was crazy.
