Thousands of pink umbrellas and even a pink house welcome visitors to Grasse, France. The town embraced the color as a tribute to the pink May rose, one of the flowers grown here. Known as the perfume capital of the world, Grasse once feared its signature industry was disappearing. Mayor Jérôme Viaud, with the help of a grassroots movement, set out to revive it.
