This past Sunday was our first SEEN Sunday, and what stayed with me wasn’t just the joy, it was the quiet shift. Shoulders softening. Guards coming down. The kind of ease that comes when someone knows they’re being met with dignity.
When I joined the board of seen_nonprofit , I felt honored, but more than that, accountable…to show up in a way that reflects the depth, resilience, and humanity of this community. Not just to serve, but to respect. Not just to give, but to affirm: you matter, exactly as you are.
Because care isn’t only about meeting needs. It’s about restoring a sense of self. Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer is not more help, but less weight. Space to breathe. ...
